HWHSD welcomed Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Secretary Jacob Oliva on September 3 as part of her "Capital for the Day" through Helena-West Helena! 🌟

During classroom visits, students put their learning into action. Kindergarten students played “Governor Says” using skills from their lessons, 1st grade students challenged their guests to “Are You Smarter Than a Cougar?”, and 3rd grade students asked thoughtful questions about leadership and the governor’s day-to-day work.

Dr. Hodo also shared how the district is preparing scholars for life after graduation through competitive teacher recruitment, partnerships with PCCUA, the Middle College Academy, the Workforce Academy, and expanded career and college opportunities.

We were proud to share the great things happening across our district! 📚
