Cougars Serve Phillips County

On Wednesday, October 17th the Central High School Senior High Student Council members volunteered at the Food Bank of the Delta for the Commodities Food Distribution. The Cougars helped set up, register, distribute food, and pack food to cars. The students worked very hard while also having fun serving people from Phillips County. 173 households, 504 individuals were served. The members of the Senior High Student Council are Kylaun Anderson, Terrace Bailey, Jr., Korey Edwards, Suazell Farmer, Ashuante Goodall, Brianna Guy, Tamia Jones, Jatoria Mitchell, Mardaisha Moore, and Kobe Simpson. The CHS Student Council sponsors also participated in the event. Sponsors include Doug Bielemeier, Jasmin Davis, Tomisha Gant, Tonya Jones, and Kiwanna Wade. Student Council members look forward to getting to work with Ms. Gracie Gonner and staff at the Food Bank of the Delta (586 Phillips 241 Rd) again on Wednesday, November 7th at the next Commodities Food Distribution event. The distribution will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You must bring photo ID, boxes/bags to pack food, and must live in Phillips, Lee, or Monroe counties.
